Effective protection for any size business
Sonitrol offers effective security solutions for businesses of all sizes throughout North America. Our proprietary audio intrusion detection technology can be cost effective for small businesses because, unlike motion-based systems, a single Sonitrol audio sensor offers wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling coverage for 5,000 square feet.
Our modular design means that you can start with audio intrusion detection today, and add digital video surveillance, access control or fire detection down the road. It’s also scalable, so your system can grow with your needs. And it’s backed by a team of trained professionals at a Sonitrol Central Station.
Security tips to share
We’d be glad to help you with your security needs. In the meantime, here are some tips from the Seattle (Wash.) Police Department’s Community Crime Prevention Unit:
- Leave cash registers empty and open after hours.
- Ensure all exterior doors have adequate locking mechanisms or install a secondary lock/deadbolt.
- Leave an interior light on all night.
- Check exterior for possible access to the roof and secure all ladders and garbage dumpsters.
- Use exterior lighting in parking lots and at entrances
- Keep valuable merchandise away from doors or windows to prevent smash-and-grab theft.
- Install a safe or strong security cabinet to store valuable documents or keys.
- Install an annunciator at entrances to alert you that a customer has entered.
- Don’t tag your keys with your business name or address or home address.
- Change locks if keys are lost or not returned by a former employee.
- Mark keys “do not duplicate” to prevent legitimate locksmiths from making copies without your knowledge.
- Don’t open the door until you’re ready to do business.
- Don’t count receipts until you lock up.
- Never resist an armed robber.
- Call 9-1-1 (24 hrs.) for all medical, fire and police emergencies and any time you believe you need police, fire or medical personnel at the scene.
- Post local emergency numbers to report any incident that should be reported to the police but which does not require an officer at the scene.
